A thoughtful approach to your project.
The Right Material Makes All the Difference.
Every successful interior begins with thoughtful choices. Whether you are renovating your home, planning a new kitchen, designing a bathroom or developing a commercial space, selecting the right surface is an essential part of creating a result that feels complete.
At FLOOR & WALL GMPC, we believe that choosing materials should be an informed and enjoyable experience. Our materials consultation service helps you explore the possibilities of natural stone, porcelain and ceramic while considering the design, functionality and individual requirements of your project.
From the distinctive character of granite and marble to the versatility of contemporary porcelain and ceramic, we help you understand the options available and identify finishes that complement your space.
Understanding Your Space
No two projects are the same.
A busy family kitchen has different requirements from a contemporary bathroom, a welcoming living room or a commercial reception area. Understanding how a space will be used is just as important as choosing its appearance.
During your consultation, we can discuss your design preferences, existing interior, preferred colours, dimensions, intended application and maintenance expectations.
Our aim is to help you make considered decisions that balance appearance, practicality and suitability.
Explore Our Materials
We work with four principal material categories, each offering different characteristics and design possibilities.
Granite — Natural Strength & Character
Granite is valued for its distinctive natural patterns, durability and individual appearance. It offers a timeless choice for suitable kitchen surfaces, countertops and architectural applications.
With variations in colour, grain and texture, every natural granite surface has its own identity.
Marble — Timeless Natural Elegance
Marble introduces depth, movement and sophistication through its distinctive veining and natural colour variations.
It can create beautiful feature surfaces, refined bathrooms and architectural details. During consultation, we can also discuss its care requirements and suitability for the intended application.
Porcelain — Contemporary Versatility
Porcelain provides a wide choice of finishes, formats and colours, making it a versatile option for modern residential and commercial interiors.
From understated neutral tones to stone-inspired designs, porcelain offers opportunities for creating coordinated wall and floor finishes.
Ceramic — Practical Design Possibilities
Ceramic tiles offer an extensive selection of colours, textures, sizes and decorative finishes.
Suitable for a variety of wall and selected floor applications, ceramic allows homeowners and designers to introduce character while maintaining a practical approach to everyday interiors.
More Than Colour and Texture
Choosing the right material involves more than selecting a photograph or a sample.
The format, finish, installation method, intended use and maintenance requirements can all influence the final result.
Our consultation conversations can help you explore:
Material suitability for different rooms and applications.
Colours, textures and coordinated surface finishes.
Natural stone compared with porcelain and ceramic.
Tile dimensions, layouts and visual proportions.
Practical considerations for kitchens, bathrooms, floors and walls.
Cleaning and maintenance expectations.
Installation requirements and project planning.
We want you to feel confident about your choices before moving forward.
Our Consultation Approach
01 — Tell Us About Your Project
Share your ideas, inspiration, measurements and project location. Whether you already have a particular material in mind or are exploring different possibilities, we begin by understanding what you would like to achieve.
02 — Discover Suitable Materials
We discuss the characteristics of different surfaces, including available finishes, visual combinations and practical considerations. Where appropriate, material samples can help you better understand colour, pattern and texture.
03 — Plan Your Next Steps
Once your preferences and project requirements are clearer, we can discuss installation considerations, the proposed scope of work and the information required for a personalised quotation.
Natural Beauty. Considered Choices.
A carefully selected surface should feel like a natural part of its surroundings.
It should complement the architecture, support the way a space is used and contribute to an interior that remains welcoming over time.
At FLOOR & WALL GMPC, we approach every consultation with attention to these details, helping residential and commercial clients explore material solutions that bring together design and everyday practicality.
Based in Northampton, we welcome enquiries from homeowners, contractors, developers and design professionals locally and across the United Kingdom.
